Dinesen, Denmark’s leading manufacturer of highend wooden flooring, has opened the Dinesen Apartment by David Thulstrup in Brooklyn, New York — a temporary showroom and immersive space designed by the acclaimed Danish architect. Open until February 2026, the apartment offers visitors an intimate opportunity to experience Dinesen wood within a beautifully curated residential setting that celebrates craftsmanship and atmosphere.
Moving beyond the conventions of a traditional showroom, the Dinesen Apartment presents Danish design in a living, breathing environment. Every surface and detail — from flooring to furniture — speaks to the seamless dialogue between architecture, material, and emotion. Softly toned walls, warm oak layers, and crafted textures create a serene atmosphere that captures the quiet beauty of Scandinavian design.
Among the curated furnishings, the Arv Dining Chair and Arv Lounge Chair by Brdr. Krüger, designed by David Thulstrup, holds a prominent place. The collection embodies the same timeless craftsmanship that defines the apartment itself. Its gently curved backrest and organic joinery echo the architectural language of Thulstrup’s design — honest, tactile, and deeply rooted in Danish tradition.

“Everything I design is about crafting a sense of place. The apartment is not just about showcasing materials — it’s about evoking emotion through scale, light, and texture. Dinesen’s wood carries a quiet power that visitors can truly feel.”
David Thulstrup.
The Dinesen Apartment by David Thulstrup stands as a celebration of Danish design heritage and contemporary craftsmanship. More than a showroom, it functions as a living residence and meeting hub — a space where light moves across oak floors, where furniture invites touch, and where design is experienced with all the senses.
