The Home of Hans Bølling

Introducing The House of Hans Bølling: an exhibition in homage to one of the Danish Modern era’s greatest designers. The exhibition recreates Bølling’s home, living room, and study, presenting a collection of memorabilia and sketches that explore his iconic spirit, curiosity and creativity.

Hans Bølling’s new range consists of a lounge chair, stool and coffee table, which continue his iconic design line of powerful modern simplicity with honest and playful twists. Laying the foundation for timeless designs, the furniture is built to last in Denmark at our 5th generation workshop.

HB Lounge Chair

Inspired in style by the iconic tray-table, Bølling’s first lounge chair infuses his characteristic creative spirit into a minimalist design.

The exhibition is curated by architect and artist Sara Martinsen, who shares Bølling’s passion for natural materials and focuses on the human connection to these.

The furniture is created in collaboration with AHEC, from sustainable American hardwood which places redwood, cherry and maple in an inspiring new context and showcases their natural hues and characteristics.

The essence of the Danish Golden age of design is rejuvenated, strengthened and refined in Hans Bølling’s new range, consisting of a lounge chair, stool and coffee table. These pieces were designed in partnership with the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC), using and reimagining red oakwood, cherry wood and maple wood to provide unique hues, tones and depth that harness the beauty of the natural world.

In these latest designs, the passion and care for sustainable wood has taken an even greater relevance as American hardwoods have been used to provide a more sustainable choice than high-demand white European oak. For over 30 years AHEC has been at the forefront of wood promotion in Europe, successfully building a distinctive and creative brand for US hardwoods.

Hija de Sanchez

Internationally acclaimed chef Rosio Sánchez opens a striking new Mexican restaurant in Copenhagen, and OEO Studio designed the place with Pauline Bar Stool front and centre.

To reflect the restaurant’s friendly experience, OEO Studio carefully designed dining spaces in the bar and kitchen counters, with comfortable bar stools overlooking the kitchen. The interiors are a celebration of Danish design, craftsmanship and architecture of Mexico.

Donum Home

David Thulstrup was commissioned to reconfigure parts of the Donum Estate: a space for wine tasting, dining, art and entertainment, located in Sonoma County, California. ARV Chairs match with the overall design language that pays homage to Scandinavian values such as simplicity, functionalism, and a sense of calmness, while giving a nod to the Californian vernacular through natural materiality.

Opus Arisugawa Terrace & Residence

OEO Studio worked on the renovation of a luxury condominium apartment of 200 m2 located at the Opus Arisugawa Terrace & Residence in central Tokyo, Japan. Hotel Kong Arthur

OEO Studio has made a major refurbishment of the lounge, bar and welcome area of Hotel Kong Arthur in Copenhagen. One of the main drivers of the project was to bring a residential quality to the space and to create an authentic sense of place. With the design, emphasis has been given to reinterpreting the concept of classic Danish design and placing it in a contemporary context while making guests feel relaxed and comfortable.

When former Noma and Ramsay chef, Beau Clugston, was to reopen his restaurant in central Copenhagen, he approached Brdr. Krüger. He recognised his own approach to food in the local quality craftsmanship and essential design philosophy in furniture.

F Chair designed by Rasmus Fex, was chosen in natural wood, with a seat in woven black polyester bands, to accompany the charming simplicity of the place, and in a red monochromatic version, to create a seductive atmosphere at all tables.

“My food is about simplicity hidden by a veil of complexity. With that said if the produce isn’t the highest of quality, the simplicity turns to failure”, declares Beau. “This resonates in everything”.

The quality, craftsmanship and complexity of Iluka is hidden by a charming simplicity that might just make this seafood bistro of the future the top-of-the-list place to book.

“High Eccentricity Stool” was presented at the Wallpaper* Handmade exhibition in Milan 2015 ” Making the most of Brdr Krüger’s famous woodturning skills, this stool/pedestal by Studio Libertiny is a modern take on the traditional woodworking technique of off-axis, or eccentric, woodturning”. As a result, its dynamic, asymmetrical shape offers an ever-changing profile.Made from solid Dinesen Douglas pine, the piece’s unexpected form feels tactile and organic. A colour treatment of blue linseed oil accentuates the lighter and darker grains in the wood.
