Making the Form Possible
A wooden chair with 90-degree angles and no supporting structures typically defies conventional structural logic, often resulting in a limited lifespan. With Ekko, this challenge was addressed through an intensive development process. Over eighteen months, Brdr. Krüger engineered a specialised mortise-and-tenon joint to realise the design — tested through extensive prototyping. “Many prototypes broke along the way, but we’re proud to have created a chair that uncompromisingly combines elegance with robustness. This is a chair designed to endure, both within and beyond the church,” says Jonas Krüger, Brdr. Krüger.
