Located in the heart of Copenhagen, restaurant AOC has reopened its doors, offering a unique culinary experience that blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design. This two-star Michelin restaurant, in collaboration with design studio Spacon & X, has created a spatial design that reflects the restaurant’s commitment to local suppliers and exceptional quality.

From the moment you step inside, you are transported to a world of sensory delight, where the artistry of the cuisine is mirrored in a warm spatial design. The attention to detail is evident in every corner of the restaurant, from the carefully curated furniture and decor to the use of high-quality materials that exude a sense of refinement.
At AOC, every detail is carefully curated to create an immersive dining experience, where nature’s finest flavors meet impeccable craftsmanship. Owners Christian Aarø and Søren Selin celebrate the richness of Nordic ingredients, crafting a sensory journey that blends taste, vision, color, and aroma. Their philosophy of pure savor is brought to life through a modern approach, using the best from both land and sea.
The design of this restaurant is in essence a celebration of nature, incorporating natural materials and organic elements throughout the space. In addition, the acoustic surfaces in the furniture and the works by Spacon & X create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The pressed elements from the cool forest, including ferns and branches, add a touch of nature to the restaurant.
‘’With AOC we wanted it to feel like visiting the home of a dear friend – every time you notice something new. This is done by working with layers of details and craftsmanship – from noticing a new brass intarsia in the wood, a beetle in the embroidered apple branches or a different reflected light from the hammered brass lamps. This creates a sustainable constant change in the interior, that reflects the changes of seasons and menu, which is so dear to AOC”
